P.G. Medical Students Get Acquainted with Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital

A One Day Advanced Laparascopic Training Workshop was organized by the Obs & Gyn Deptt. of Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital. In the workshop, P.G. Medical students were provided with hands on experience on the techniques of laparoscopic surgery. During the workshop, specialists from Operation Theatre explained the Minimally Invasive Gynae Procedures with the young doctors.
On Wednesday, the opening ceremony of the workshop organized at Obs & Gyn Deptt. was done jointly by  the Chief Guest, Principal, Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical & Health Sciences, Dr. Ashok Nayak, HOD, Obs & Gyn Deptt., Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, Dr. Vineeta Gupta, Aarti Luthra, Dr. Anupama Sethi and Dr. Robina Makker by lamp lighting. This workshop was organized under the aegis of FOGSI-IAGE’s Eagle Project to enhance the surgical skills of post graduate trainees by integrating theoretical knowledge with practical laparoscopic techniques. The event featured live demonstrations, simulation based training and interactive discussions on key procedures like Laparascopic Hysterectomy, Myomectomy, Ovarian Cystectomy, Endometriosis Surgeries and Hysteroscopic surgeries.
Speaking about the initiative, Dr. Vineeta Gupta said that the workshop is designed to bridge the gap between the theoretical learning and real world surgical practice. She said that Hands on Training is crucial for post graduate students to develop confidence and expertise in endoscopic surgeries in gynaecology. She said that in laparoscopic surgery, even the major operations are done successfully by fewer incisions. This makes the patient to recover early after the surgery. The occasion was marked by the auspicious presence of President, Dehradun Gynaecological Society, Dr. Reena Ahuja. A Vote of Thanks was proposed by Dr. Namrata Saxena.
Participants expressed appreciation for practical experience and mentorship highlighting the simulator based training as a key factor of the workshop. The event concluded with an interactive Questions and Answers Session, feedback collection and certificate distribution to all the attendees.
