Message from the Eye Bank Medical Director

With the blessings of our Hon’able Chairman Shri Mahant Devendra das Ji Maharaj Shri Mahant Indiresh Eye Bank (SMIEB) was inaugurated on 11th June 2024.

Started as an Eye Donation Centre in 2012, SMIEB aims at providing high quality donor cornea to the cornea surgeons of Uttarakhand region.

Being the first Eye Bank in the centre of Dehradun, we look forward to cater to all the corneal blind patients of not only Dehradun but it’s nearby region as well.

Time and money spent in procuring the donor cornea from other Eye Banks can now be saved and the Eye Banking system of Uttarakhand can proliferate and progress in a positive direction.

We hope to continue getting support from all the NGOs that we have been working with and want to thank all the donor families who have contributed selflessly in our movement to fight corneal blindness in the Uttarakhand region
