Established in 2013 under the visionary leadership of Shri Mahant Devendra Dass Ji,Maharaj the Department of Cardiology has grown into a leading center for advanced cardiac care, interventional excellence, and academic training under the Prof.& Head- Dr.Tanuj Bhatia- Interventional & Cardiologist, Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical & Health Sciences-Dehradun Uttrakhand.

Milestones 

• 2013 : Establishment of the Department of Cardiology
• 2013 : Commissioning of the Echocardiography (Echo) Lab
• 2014 : Establishment of advanced Cardiac Catheterization (Cath- Lab)
• 2017 : Ranked among the Top 3 Cardiology Departments in Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh, and Top 10 in North India within just 3 years
• 2019 : Applied for DM Cardiology Program
• 2022 : Approval and initiation of DM Cardiology seats
• 2023 : Installed 2nd Cardiac Catheterization (Cath- Lab).
• 2026 : Expansion to 6 DM Cardiology seats

The Department of Cardiology at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital was established in 2013. Since then the department has grown as centre of excellence and as tertiary care referral centre of Uttarakhand state & nearby state like Himachal Pradesh, western Uttar Pradesh & Bihar. DEPARTMENT OF CARDIOLOGY OF Shri Mahant Indiresh hospital has 5 Faculty members (Interventional Cardiologists) department id recognized by NMC since 2021 for incorporating 2 DM Resident each year through NEET control SS exam. The department is equipped with 2 hight end Cardiac Cath labs and 24 x 7 Primary PCI program. It is also equipped with other STATE OF ART machines like IVUS, OCT, FFR, ROTA pro, Echocardiography machines, Holter, Treadmill test & HUTT etc. it is backed by well trained nursing & technical staff. Our centre is one of the busiest Cardiology departments doing maximum number of cases in Uttarakhand, western Uttar Pradesh, and Himachal Pradesh, Bihar & Haryana.

Cardiology department is performing more than 450 Cardiac Cath procedures every month, >350 Angiographies, >180 Angioplasties and >10 Balloon Mitral Valvotomies. Our centre is also equipped with doing Advanced clinical & Excellery Procedure as well as pediatric interventions (ASD/VSD/PDA transcatheter closure) & Tran catheter technique for Aortic Valve (TAVR intervention).

Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital has a multidisciplinary approach to cardiac care involving senior Cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, critical care specialists, anesthetists, cardiac technicians and nurses. We provide comprehensive patient evaluation and appropriate interventional therapies which are completed on a timely basis. Services 

The department of Cardiology runs OPD services in all week day’s i.e from Monday to Saturday. The services provided are Out patient, In-patient ( of 24 X 7 services) including Coronary Care Unit (CCU) & Cardiology Ward, ECG, Echocardiography lab, Cath lab and TMT lab & Holter lab.

• Clot removal from the vessels using mechanical thrombectomy system (Penumbra) coronary as well as peripheral.

Invasive non coronary procedures

• Repair of mitral, aortic, tricuspid and pulmonary valves (valvuloplasty) using balloons
• Peripheral angiography with angioplasty
• Diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders (Electrophysiology and catheter ablation of arrhythmias)
