Awareness Message on Heart Disease Prevention on World Heart Day at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital

A special awareness programme was organised by the Department of Cardiology at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital on the occasion of World Heart Day. The programme aimed to raise awareness about heart health, promote a healthy lifestyle and educate people about preventive measures against cardiovascular diseases.

Speaking on the occasion, Professor Dr. Tanuj Bhatia, Head and Director, Department of Cardiology, Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, said that adopting a healthy lifestyle is essential for maintaining a healthy heart. He emphasised that regular exercise, a balanced diet and a stress-free lifestyle play an important role in preventing heart disease. He also stressed the importance of regular health check-ups and advised people not to ignore any symptoms related to the heart. He urged everyone to create awareness about heart health among their family members as well.

Senior cardiology specialists Prof. Dr. Sahil Mahajan, Dr. Richa Sharma, Dr. Anamika and Dr. Mayank Agarwal also highlighted the importance of maintaining a healthy weight, following a disciplined lifestyle and exercising regularly.

A poster competition was a major highlight of the programme. Participants presented creative and informative posters on heart health, prevention of cardiovascular diseases, balanced nutrition and healthy lifestyle practices. Deeksha and Bhawna secured first place, Saurabh stood second, while Archana secured third place. The winners were felicitated for their outstanding performance.

Senior administrative officers, doctors, nursing staff and support staff from various departments of the hospital attended the programme. The speakers highlighted the importance of regular physical activity, a balanced and nutritious diet, stress management and periodic health check-ups for maintaining cardiovascular health.

The programme concluded with an appeal from the Department of Cardiology and the hospital administration to adopt a healthy lifestyle, remain vigilant about heart health and take timely preventive measures against heart disease.
