TAVR or TAVI technique is one of the most ultramodern techniques in the world used in the treatment of heart patients.

For very critical patients of heart suffering from Aortic stenosis, TAVR technique is considered to be the very useful and life saving procedure. This information was made available by Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital’s Medical Superintendent Dr. Ajay Pandita. Chairman of Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, Shri Mahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj has congratulated and showered his divine blessings over Cardiologist Dr. Sahil Mahajan and his whole team which conducted the successful procedure using transcaval TAVR technique.

Banshi Ram, a resident of Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand, was suffering from heart valve disease. He was complaining of difficulty in breathing, problem in walking, mild cough, heaviness in chest and sudden fainting while sitting. In Medical Science, this disease is called Aortic Stenosis (obstruction in Aortic Valve). Senior Cardiologist of Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, Dr. Sahil Mahajan got the tests done of the patient. In the test, Aortic Stenosis was diagnosed.

Deptt. of Cardiology’s Heart Professor Dr. Sahil Mahajan, Assistant Professor Dr. Abhishek Mittal and CTVS’s Open Heart Surgeon Dr. Ashok Jayant took a joint decision to use TAVR Technique to treat Banshi Ram. Patient Banshi Ram also had the wish to get done his heart procedure without incision. At the ultra modern Cath Lab of Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, the procedure of patient took one and a half hours and was successful. YOU MUST ALSO KNOW TRANSCAVAL TAVR TECHNIQUE

Ordinarily, the treatment of Aortic Stenosis patients is done through the arteries. In Transcaval Technique treatment is done through the veins- Inferior Vena Cava since arteries are blocked in some patients. We enter the arteries - Aorta by making a hole in Vein- Inferior Vena Cava. By successfully using this technique, Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical & Health

Sciences has become the very first medical college leaving behind AIIMS, New Delhi, PGI, Chandigarh and other Private & Govt. hospitals.
