On 29 September 2025, on the occasion of World Heart Day, a colorful and educational program was organized in the auditorium of Shri Mahant Indiresh on the theme “Keep the Beat, Love Your Heart.”
The program began with a welcome address by Prof. Dr. Tanuj Bhatia, Head of the Cardiology Department at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital. He informed the participants about World Heart Day and its importance, highlighting that it is observed globally on 29th September every year. This was followed by a recital of Saraswati Vandana.
The ceremonial lamp lighting was performed jointly by Dr. Manoj Gupta (Director, Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Medical & Health Sciences), Dr. Ashok Nayak (Principal), and Dr. Gaurav Raturi (Medical Superintendent, Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital).
Thereafter, Bhupendra Limbu, a guitarist from the Cath Lab staff, mesmerized everyone with melodious songs accompanied by guitar tunes. The CCU and Day Care staff, led by Sadhya and her team, presented a group dance on Garhwali folk songs.
Following this, a quiz competition on “Clinical Questions in Cardiology,” designed by Revive Heart Foundation, was conducted by Prof. Dr. Tanuj Bhatia, which enhanced the participants’ knowledge about heart diseases. Using a mannequin, cardiologists demonstrated how to save lives during emergencies by performing CPR.
A lively group dance was also presented by the Cardiac HDU staff. Anushka Joshi, a 13-year-old girl, showcased artistic yoga with practical demonstrations and explanations. Dr. Anamika further enlightened everyone about yoga and meditation.
At the end, Prof. Dr. Tanuj Bhatia proposed a vote of thanks.
The doctors and staff of the hospital’s Cardiology Department played a significant role in making the program successful. The stage was conducted by Simran Agarwal and Tanmay Bhatnagar, Senior Coordinator, Cardiology Department.
On this occasion, Dr. Puneet Ohri, Dr. Lalit Kumar Varshney, Dr. Richa Sharma, Dr. Alok Kumar, Dr. Nidhi Jain, Dr. R. K. Verma, Dr. Narayan Jeet, Dr. Sanjay Sadhu, and Dr. Bhavna Prabhakar were also present.
