Shri MahantIndiresh Eye Bank is Observing 39th National Eye Donation Fortnight with full enthusiasm.
National Eye Donation Fortnight is observed annually from August 25 to September 8. The fortnight aims to raise awareness about the importance of eye donation and why one should pledge to donate their eyes after death. When an individual donates their eye, it helps another individual gain vision. The event has been celebrated in India for the past 39 years.
Eye Donation Awareness videos have been displayed at various stations in the hospital.
Intra school poster competition at various SGRR schools have been held form 27th Aug to 29th Aug2024and winners felicitated.
Prof (Dr.) TarannumShakeel,Head dept. of Ophthalmology and Director SMI Eye Banksensitised the students about Eye donation and motivated all the school staff and students to pledge their eyes for Eye Donation.
SMI Eye Bank team is hopeful that with the participation of younger generation in the eye Donation campaign, their movement to fight corneal blindness will gain momentum.
NETRA DAATA DIWAS is also being organized on 10th September 2024, to honor the Eye Donor Families.
