Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital Observes World Cancer Day with Awareness Campaign

On the occasion of World Cancer Day, the Oncology Department of Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, in collaboration with the Nursing College of Shri Guru Ram Rai University and the Kamlesh Cancer Foundation, organised a series of impactful activities to raise awareness about cancer prevention and early detection.
The day began with a spirited rally, where 300 nursing students from Shri Guru Ram Rai University's Nursing College marched from the college campus to Kargi Chowk, carrying banners and placards with messages aimed at educating the public about the importance of cancer awareness and prevention. The rally was a vibrant display of student solidarity in spreading critical health messages to the local community.
In addition to the rally, a Nukkad Natak (street play) was performed, captivating the audience with informative and thought-provoking performances on cancer-related issues, early symptoms, and the significance of regular screenings. The street play was well received, engaging the public and sparking conversations on the need for awareness and action against cancer.
A poster presentation showcasing the latest advancements in cancer treatment, prevention strategies, and lifestyle factors was also held, providing a platform for students and faculty to present their research and insights on the subject. The posters provided valuable information on various types of cancer and the importance of a healthy lifestyle in reducing cancer risks.
Dr. Pankaj Garg, Head of the Cancer Department at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, informed the attendees that it is crucial to address the growing risk of cancer today, as waiting any longer may make it too late to take effective action. His statement emphasised the urgency of early detection and the need for heightened awareness in the community. He reiterated that the Oncology Department of Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital is committed to continue its efforts in raising awareness about cancer and ensuring accessible healthcare services for all. The event was a resounding success in spreading the message of cancer awareness and the importance of early detection.
The success of the event was made possible by the contributions of the faculty of the Nursing College, Dr. Ajeet Tiwari, Dr. Rachit Ahuja, Dr. Debanjan, Dr. Nishith, and PRO Vivek Sharma, whose guidance and support were instrumental in organising the event. Mr. Santosh's efforts in coordinating the logistics ensured the smooth execution of the activities.
This initiative was a testament to the collective efforts of Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, Shri Guru Ram Rai University's Nursing College, and the Kamlesh Cancer Foundation to combat the global cancer burden and empower the community with knowledge and resources for better health outcomes.
